Why do we use Volume instead of Weight to measure the substrates?
When we mix different soil mixes, we measure each part by volume, not weight, because weight can be affected by many factors, such as water, for Example: Wet peatmoss is significantly heavier than dry peatmoss even if they have the same volume. Not only that, Weight is also related to substrate density and grain size of the substrate. Therefore, all the substrate we sell are measure in Litre instead of Kilogram.
